On Wednesday, November 6, hear from Professor John A. Rogers, Director of the Institute for Bioelectronics at Northwestern University. A pioneer in materials science and biotechnology, Rogers will share insights into how emerging technologies in bioelectronics are reshaping healthcare and driving the future of human-centered innovation.

About John A. Rogers:

Professor John A. Rogers began his career at Bell Laboratories as a Member of Technical Staff in the Condensed Matter Physics Research Department in 1997, later serving as Director. He spent thirteen years at the University of Illinois as the Swanlund Chair Professor and Director of the Seitz Materials Research Laboratory before joining Northwestern in 2016 as the Simpson/Querrey Professor and Director of the Institute for Bioelectronics. He has co-authored nearly 1,000 papers and is co-inventor on more than 100 patents.

Rogers is co-founder of several biotech companies, including Sibel Health, Epicore Biosystems, Rhaeos, Neurolux, and Wearifi. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, such as the MacArthur Fellowship (2009), Lemelson-MIT Prize (2011), Smithsonian Award for American Ingenuity in the Physical Sciences (2013), Benjamin Franklin Medal (2019), and a Guggenheim Fellowship (2021). He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine, the Royal Society, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
