Media and creative content company FRC submitted an entry to the NASA 2017 Film Festival called “Space Crazy”. The film highlights Chicago and two leaders of NewSpace Chicago: David Hurst, CEO of Orbital Transports, and Capt. David C. Koch, CEO of Air Chicago. Here is an abstract for the entry:

"Space has the power to touch humans in untold ways and for some, it makes them crazy.  I learned that my creativity was grounded until I reached beyond my outer limits and fell into a community of elevated dreamers and thinkers who have shown me that space lives at the end of our imagination. I went to find the stars and discovered that my dream is to bring imagination to the city of Chicago through space and its endless possibility.

"Follow me."

At this event, we will present a screening of the film, followed by a panel discussion with David and David to learn more about the people behind the film and how NewSpace Chicago has assisted their space startups.

Orbital Transports is a space logistics and orbital infrastructure company with a long-term goal of enabling human settlement of the Solar System. The company coordinates the complex elements involving space vehicles, people, facilities, and services required for successful space missions. Currently focused on delivering small satellite solutions from initial concept through to completed mission, Orbital Transports offers businesses with limited prior experience in space a low-risk and cost-effective opportunity to harness value from space.

AirChicago is a Chicago-area-based startup that is designed to be space-scalable.  AirChicago flights will operate Monday through Friday to 30 popular business and leisure destinations from Chicago Executive Airport. AirChicago’s long-term plan is to acquire a fleet of hypersonic airliners to serve intercontinental routes as well as low-Earth-orbit destinations such as space resorts, space-based manufacturing facilities and orbital spaceports where passengers can transfer to cislunar flights.

FRC is a sanctuary created out of a need for a different creative company who not only values epic ideas, but who is willing to make a collective choice to dedicate time investing in each other. We call this Creative Altruism. Our business is to ensure all people have a place to go, see their ideas live and become investment opportunities in their own prosperity and growth, both personally and monetarily.

This is part of a continuing series of space entrepreneurship discussion and networking forums presented by NewSpace Chicago and hosted at mHUB Chicago. This event is free and open to the public.
